Rebuilding Foundations

An exploration of international development work in Africa

My EWB university chapter is the best!  Thanks to everyone back home for the fabulous letters.  I binge-read them.  Instead of savoring your words over my placement, I read almost all of them at once.

Thank you for the encouragement and support.

Moreover, feel free to send more messages!  I love emails.

That goes for everyone

Hi Beth! This is your Aunt Kim in Kansas! I talked with your Dad tonight for a long time. It was nice to hear from him. I had forgotten about your blog. It’s been a while since I last read. So now I’m catching up. 🙂 Your experiences are really interesting & I am so proud of what you are doing! Some of it reminds me of when I went to Saudi Arabia with Dick & Mom. It was an experience I will never forget. I think the food was better there though. At least from what I can tell from your descriptions. In Saudi there were wild dogs everywhere. Goats too but the dogs were really mean. No one there had dogs for pets. I remember Muffy (the dog we had at the time) hated Arabs. She could smell them a mile away & barked like crazy. When you described prayer time it brought back lots of memories. We would be in the grocery store & when prayers started we had to leave our cart & walk outside & wait until prayers were done before we could go back in. I’ll never forget the sound of them singing. Such great memories. You take care over there & keep writing. Love you! K

  2. Thanks for writing, Kim. Hope you’re doing well. Dad updates me on the Kansas gossip regularly! Sending love, B.
