The F-Word: Sindane knew what it was to be white
Happy Sindane, who became famous in 2003 when he alleged that he was a white boy who had been kidnapped by black people, was found killed last week on April 1st.
His death has sparked various discussions regarding race and privilege. An interesting, if somewhat shallow, interpretation can be read here:
It is not useful to begrudge white males their status. Nobody benefits from pulling down those at the top in the name of creating an equal society, even if you’re convinced that they are beneficiaries of an unjust order.
It’s much better to uplift those at the bottom.
